Default Paragon Secondary elites

Ive noticed a lot of buzz from the pvp community about how the paragon is going to be a serious force in pvp, but people only seem to be considering the paragons primary elites, which tbh, i find in most cases just arnt that good, my choice picks for pvp:

"Coward!"

Usually a trash elite, but on a paragon (Who often has a free elite) it becomes pretty solid, that enemy monk kiting your warriors? that warrior chasing your monk? that flagrunner trying to get to the flagstand? with IAS this could be used every 7 or so seconds, not bad

"You're All Alone!"
This Skill is overpowered plain and simple, your paragon can snare kiting monks, flagrunners and warriors in your backline, godly

Empathic Removal
Good to keep yourself and warriors clean of blind and hex's (a blind paragon cant build adrenaline)

Expel Hexes
Keep your team clean of hexes, enough said

Grenth's Grasp

Even with minimal points, can be used to spread cripple at multiple targets of oppertunity, can easly keep both enemy monks and warriors snared at once, combine with Swift Javelin and/or wild throw and you have a cripshot, but with more spammable cripple (and a half a dozen free slots to play with for utilty, which the paragon has in aces)

Sandy Grip

Even with 0 points, you can keep two warriors blind all the time , could see blindbots replaced by this, no energy management problems, and re-apply every 1.5 seconds (or less IAS)

I think the paragon is the most versatile new class to be thrown into the ring, he makes a very strong offensive character, both for spiking and DPS (Cruel Spear, owch) , and is the most effective battery/ defensive support character in the game

Those elites may change before release of NF; and since the metagame for nightfall isn't quite determined yet I wouldn't write off all the paragon elites just yet. There are some that could be quite good depending on the meta. But those elites you mention could be good if you do have an open slot for em.

Attack skills aren't cheap when you have only 2 pips of energy (only enough energy to consistenly use 1 attack every 7.5 seconds). With adrenaline attacks you cannot nearly keep two warriors blind all the time through removal either. You'd be much better off as a ranger for cheap spam attacks.

Saint Greg: Barbed Spear much? It's already the best non-elite Spear Mastery skill paragons have, and with Sandy Grip you it suddenly doubles as blind too.

I agree "Coward!" is better on a ranged attacker than on a warrior, and I can only assume that YAA will get pre-nerfed before Nightfall hits the shelves. And Emp Removal and Expel are already good skills for mid-liners.

There's no doubt that Grenth's and Sandy both have huge potential, but enchantment hate also gets a big boost with Nightfall. To keep a prime enchant like those up, you're going to have to have to plan on covering and that gets expensive with only 2 pips.

Die, I'm sorry to be rude, but as your whole post is about Dervishes. We were talking about Paragons here. :S
On Topic:As much as I don't like using Anet's predesigned ideas, the think that as an elite CauterySignet looked pretty nice, either coupled with Remedy Signet as suggested, or as just a plain extinguish, since as you pointed out Paragons will generally have an open elite spot. Also for the Paragon elites is Crippling Anthem, which cripples easily and effectively, and although not non-elite any more we again come to the fact that a lot of Paragons can sport an open elite spot. "Coward" I like the idea of, though it has never been useful on a warrior because of other more profitable elites the idea of it on a Paragon is useful. The two removals are nice but I beleive that the slot can go to better use on a Paragon especially witht he fact that the recent BL builds joined up with the extinguish on flag runners can really do almost the same considering that the ten second recharge is no good for conditions on Empathic removal. In hexes Expel is as good as any if you're having real problems with the hexes. I can't really comment on Sandy Grip and Grenth's Grasp as I didn't check them out during the betas.

ah but you only have two pips if you dont know how to use the class, go for the eyes every 3 seconds = 4 energy every 3 seconds ( 7+1 lead), thats 4/5 pips of regen, or 6/7 in total, any questions?

Vital Boon, 5 e cost, 8s recharge , 20s duration, provides some token healing as well, cover enchant sorted

lets say you invest a mere 6 into earth, thats 6s of blind, and +64 added, and 125 healed on ending/shattered, with 7 its 7s blind and 68/133

Not sure why you'd use a Paragon for that Sandy Grip idea when you can use something like Ranger with Sandy Grip, Apply Poison and Called Shot. Can't be block/evaded blind instantly covered by poison for 5E/3s recharge, now that's a pain on warriors. If you want to blind 2-3 wars, you can do Called Shot-Tab-Savage-Tab-DShot, etc.

Honestly i can't see Sandy Grip stay as it is atm. It's just way too good imo.

As for Paragon, i think they got some pretty nice elites of their own. I guess it depends what utility your team will need, since they seem to be pretty much utility toolbox chars.

Paragons don't need no secondary elites, they're awesome enough on their own.

And we all know not to leave home without plenty of utility toolbox characters in GvG

IMHO this is an awesome class, simply awesome

Yeah Paragons are win. <3

As for dervishes, I haven't got a chance to actually try them but it seems like most of their uses will come from secondaries. But that's just me.
